I thought the course was fantastic! I thought your teaching style was spot on - you managed to make very complex things sound simple and conveyed it in a very empowering way. You took a lot of the mystique out of Statistics - which many people run in fear of, and gave me confidence that I could do it and handle SPSS on my own. I feel much better equipped to do clinical research now. In fact I am excited about doing different analyses! I think everyone should do this course right at the start of their clinical training. I think it would really help people get their heads around doing it the right way and not producing poor quality work. Thanks Elizabeth.

Attendees on 13-14 December 2012 course, Manchester, UK

A perfect blend of teaching and allowing time for us to work on our own data - from tidying it up and importing from Excel into SPSS and for 1-1 feedback on our own data. For the first time I understood what statistics(parametric and non-parametric) to use to summarise and analyse my data. Extremely valuable course. I would happily recommend this course to any doctor who wants to use statistics.

The training was excellent with a good ratio of instructor:student and plenty of time for individual support. The course was structured and Logical. Thankyou. Particularly useful is the Basics of SPSS including coding, initial descriptive sorting and analyses and then more complex stats inc regression.

Dr. Judith White, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board

This course was a great blend of medical statistics and an introduction to using SPSS. The training was of a high quality and addressed all my questions as someone embarking on using SPSS to analyse clinical trial data for the first time. It was interesting and useful, and I’m now less intimidated by the stats and the software. It was useful to bring my own data and analyse this in SPSS under the watchful eye of an expert. ANCOVA and Repeated Measured ANOVA were just what I needed.

9-10 November, Queen's Court Hospice Course

The course provided an excellent explanation of how to use and apply the system to our own data. Of particular use was the section where we learnt how to set up the SPSS databases and summarative analysis of data. I now feel confident in using the system, as the instructions provided by Elizabeth were particularly thorough. Would recommend the course to further colleagues.
